More than those who hate you, more than all your enemies, an undisciplined mind does greater harm.
Buddha
This is an age increasingly insulated from earth, body, and the senses that enable us to interact with genuine existence. Even fitness practitioners, with media and gadgets, disengage from their training thus divorcing themselves from the awareness of exertion and performance. Furthermore, wisdom is replaced by utilitarianism and dogmatic belief systems. In Japanese the word for heart and for mind are the same; Kokoro. Because the ‘without’ comes from the ‘within,’ this awareness of the mind-body synthesis thrives on the stimulation of mindfulness, study, reflection, and creative endeavors resulting in performances amplified to levels previously unimagined. Thru practices such as Zazen, study, and creative pursuits, High Mesa students train and engage their minds across the spectrum of daily mindfulness practices.
"Only they who obey a rhythm superior to their own are free."
